  • Alethos Therapies - a space where you are embraced for who you are, not who the world says you should be. Here, brokenness is not a flaw but a pathway to healing. I hold all truths, no matter how painful, with reverence.

Are you carrying the invisible weight of trauma, the ache of shame, or the numbness of a life half-lived? This is a place where you can fall apart and begin to rebuild. Speak your silenced thoughts and be accepted in your entirety, including the parts you’ve been taught to hide.

Healing isn’t about striving; it’s about remembering, reclaiming, and re-rooting. You are more than a survivor; you always have been.

At Alethos Therapies, you are not defined by a diagnosis, behaviour, or problem to be solved. You are seen as a whole person, and here, that is everything.

Your story is honoured, not edited. Your tears are welcome, and your silence is respected. You can fall apart, and be met with love, not fear; understanding, not judgment.

I believe in acceptance, love, and the radical power of being understood. Anyone can heal and grow when truly supported. No life is too messy to matter.

Are you ready to take the first step on this healing journey? Please get in touch with me.

  • Hello, I’m Lorie, a Counsellor and Psychotherapist based in the Blackpool, Lytham St Annes area.

I am dedicated to supporting children, young people, and adults through life’s emotional challenges.

With nearly two decades of experience in educational, community, and health settings, I have long valued the importance of emotional connection and resilience in the healing process. Although I am new to the counselling field, my professional career has been deeply rooted in helping others navigate complex emotional landscapes.

I hold a BSc (Hons) and MSc in Developmental Psychology, and a PgDip in Counselling and Psychotherapy.

My integrative approach is grounded in Humanistic and Person-Centred values, informed by developmental psychology, attachment theory, and trauma-responsive care. I believe therapy is most transformative when it recognises the whole person - mind, body, and relational world.

While my primary focus is on counselling children and young people, my practice encompasses adults as well. Alongside working to develop my private practice, I am currently providing Person-Centred counselling within NHS Talking Therapies for adults experiencing emotional distress.

I continue to deepen my practice through ongoing advanced training across additional humanistic counselling and psychotherapy modalities, including Gestalt therapy and other depth-oriented approaches.

Additionally, I am passionate about exploring creative therapeutic techniques, such as dream work, symbolic exploration and creative writing, as paths to deeper self-understanding.

As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I practice in accordance with its Ethical Framework, ensuring a safe and professional environment for my clients.

Beyond my qualifications and experience, what truly defines my practice is the humanity I bring into the room. Every person I meet, whether a child or an adult, teaches me about courage, hope, and the power of growth.

At Alethos Therapies, my commitment is simple: to provide a safe, honest, and compassionate space where you can be seen, heard, and supported on your journey toward healing, meaning, and personal growth.

If you’re ready to take the next step, I invite you to reach out for a conversation about how I can support you.

  • At Alethos Therapies, I am committed to fostering an environment where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered.

I believe that true healing and personal growth thrive in spaces that embrace equality, diversity, and inclusion.

My approach is grounded in the understanding that every individual brings unique experiences, perspectives, and strengths.

I celebrate this diversity and recognise it as a vital part of our community.

By prioritising EDI, I strive to ensure that everyone, regardless of their background, identity, or abilities, has access to my services and feels welcome in my therapeutic space.

I actively work to challenge biases and create practices that promote fairness and equity. I am dedicated to continuous learning and growth, ensuring that I can provide culturally competent care that honours and respects the diverse fabric of our community.

Together, I can create a supportive environment that not only values individual differences but also fosters a sense of belonging for all.

Join me in my commitment to making Alethos Therapies a safe and inclusive space where everyone can thrive.

Strength doesn’t come from winning. Your strength comes from hardships and deciding not to surrender, that is strength.

  • “Lorie has been such an incredible support. From the very first session, she helped me feel safe enough to speak honestly about things I hadn’t shared with anyone before. She never judged me, only listened with real understanding, which made it possible for me to face feelings I’d been carrying for years. With her help, I’ve learned healthier ways to cope and started to believe in myself again. I’m leaving therapy with more confidence, clarity, and hope for the future. Thank you."

  • Lorie helped me to understand why I was feeling the way I did. Thinking I was there for one reason soon became apparent there were more people and incidents that had caused me to need some therapy. I understand now that I lost myself in other people's problems - I lost me - and although there are still people and their problems which need me to be there, I can rationalise my feelings. Many thanks

I am so grateful for being given this opportunity and I am happy to say that I'm doing so much better now than when I first started. I really can't thank her enough.”
