Where Humanity is Everything.
Where Humanity is Everything.
-
At Alethos Therapies, safeguarding and ethical integrity are at the heart of everything I do. My practice is grounded in a deep and continually updated understanding of the legal frameworks that protect and uphold the rights, dignity, and well-being of children, young people, and adults.
-
I work in full accordance with the Children Act 1989 and 2004, which place the welfare of the child as paramount. I am vigilant to signs of harm or neglect and act promptly and proportionately in line with Working Together to Safeguard Children (2023). My approach is child-centred, relational, and always grounded in the best interests of the individual.
-
I take a ‘Think Family’ approach, recognising that children and young people do not exist in isolation, but within the context of family, community, and society. This means I consider the needs of parents, carers, and siblings as part of a whole-systems approach to wellbeing and resilience. Where necessary, I work collaboratively with other professionals to ensure joined-up and holistic support.
-
I support the rights of young people to be heard and involved in decisions about their own care.
Using Gillick Competency and Fraser Guidelines, I assess whether a young person has the understanding to make informed choices.
Respecting growing autonomy, I still ensure that safety and well-being come first. -
.Your privacy matters.
In line with Article 8 of the Human Rights Act, I offer a safe and respectful space where what you share is held in confidence.
I will only share information if there’s a legal or safeguarding reason to do so, and I’ll always try to speak to you first. -
For clients aged 16+, I work within the Mental Capacity Act 2005.
This means supporting your right to make your own choices, even if they seem unusual.
If a client lacks capacity, any decision made will be in their best interests and in the least restrictive way. -
Alethos Therapies is a place of belonging.
I fully uphold the Equality Act 2010, and actively work against discrimination in all its forms.
You are welcome here, regardless of race, gender, neurodivergence, disability, faith, sexuality, or background. -
I follow the Data Protection Act 2018 and UK GDPR.
