When people hear the word therapy, it can sound mysterious or even a little intimidating. But really, therapy is quite simple. At its heart, therapy is a safe and supportive space where you can pause, reflect, and begin to make sense of what’s happening in your life.
It’s not about someone fixing you or telling you what to do. It’s about working together, side by side, to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Therapy gives you the time and space to be truly heard, without judgment.
At Alethos Therapies, we focus on what matters to you. Maybe you’re feeling anxious, low, overwhelmed, or stuck. Therapy helps you look at these challenges in new ways and develop tools to cope, heal, and move forward.
There is no one-size-fits-all. Therapy can be short-term or longer, face-to-face, over the phone, or online. What stays constant is the relationship we built - founded on trust, respect, and understanding.
Many people worry they need to have the ‘right words’ or ‘know what to say’ before they come to therapy. The truth is - you don’t. Therapy starts with showing up. Your story, your pace, your journey.
At Alethos Therapies, I believe therapy is for everyone. Whether you’re facing something big, or simply need a space to breathe and reflect, therapy is about you being met as a person, not as a problem.
So what is therapy? It’s the courage to take the first step. And the knowledge that you don’t have to face things alone.

Counselling can benefit anyone. Children, young people, adults, parents, carers, and families all face times when life feels overwhelming or uncertain. It can support you if you are struggling with anxiety, low mood, loss, relationship difficulties, identity questions, or simply the need to be heard in a safe, non-judgemental space. You do not have to be in crisis to benefit, counselling can also help with personal growth, resilience, and understanding yourself more deeply.
